Angela Yee Will Launch Her Own Show After She Leaves 'The Breakfast Club'

Beloved radio personality Angela Yee just confirmed that she's leaving The Breakfast Club to start her own daily show.

On Wednesday, August 10, the seasoned host announced her plans to leave the syndicated morning show after 12 years. Yee also confirmed that she plans to bring all of her favorite segments to her own daily show Way Up with Angela Yee. The show, which will air middays, is scheduled to debut in Fall 2022 on more than 30 iHeartRadio stations like New York’s Power 105.1. Her new show will also be available for syndication through Premiere Networks to various stations in the U.S.

“I’m overwhelmed with gratitude and excitement to have this once in a lifetime opportunity to create a brand-new show,” Yee says. “I appreciate everyone who has helped to make this happen at iHeartMedia, and most importantly, the listeners who are like family to me. It’s a bittersweet feeling to leave an iconic show like The Breakfast Club, which we built from the ground up for 12 years, but we will forever be an extension of each other. I’m working hard and dedicated to making our new program exciting, thoughtful, provocative, and most importantly, a safe haven for even more of us to grow and learn while having fun. I’m ready for this new chapter!”

The announcement came a few hours after Yee sent out a cryptic tweet that alluded to her departure from The Breakfast Club, which she helped launch in December 2010. During this morning's broadcast, Yee did her best to hold off on making any definitive comments until the 8 o' clock hour when she took over Charlamagne Tha God's Donkey Of The Day segment to reveal her new moves.

“Angela Yee is a Powerhouse!" said Thea Mitchem, iHeartMedia Executive Vice President of Programming. "She’s a businesswoman, entrepreneur, philanthropist, and a highly-entertaining, smart and witty talent who will go down as one of the greats of her generation. We are thrilled to have her lead this new show. Angela has her finger on the pulse of entertainment and culture, and I look forward to watching her bring her positive outlook and even more great content to her devoted listeners in new and influential ways."

Yee will stay on The Breakfast Club until the launch of her show in the fall. Her provocative Lip Service podcast will also continue and will soon be available on the iHeartPodcast Network. Watch Angela Yee make her big announcement below.
