Questlove was honored by his peers after he debuted his anticipated documentary about the iconic Sly Stone.

The esteemed artist, producer and director was the guest of honor at VIBE and the Onyx Collective's cover launch party at Disney House in Park City, Utah last weekend during the 2025 Sundance Film Festival. The host of Questlove Supreme was surrounded by a star-studded audience who celebrated his recent VIBE cover story, and the world premiere of his new documentary SLY LIVES! The Sly Family, including Stone's daughter Novena Carmel, was in the building along with other celebrities like Bun B, Mack Wilds, and DJ D-Nice.

The invite-only event allowed guests to pay homage to Questlove's contributions to music and film. They also got to immerse themselves in Sly & The Family Stone's historic catalog. One of the most talked-about activities at the event was a live open mic recording studio where guests had a rare chance to record their own vinyl on an instrumental from the SLY LIVES! soundtrack.

Questlove was honored a couple of weeks before SLY LIVES! arrives on Hulu this month. The documentary explores the legacy of Sly & the Family Stone. It features interviews with band members Greg Errico, Larry Graham, Jerry Martini, and the late Cynthia Robinson as well as his family members Novena Carmel, Sylvette Phunne Robinson, and Sylvester Stewart Jr. Other celebrity guests who appear in the documentary include D’Angelo, Chaka Khan, Q-Tip, Andre 3000, Nile Rogers, Jimmy Jam, Terry Lewis, George Clinton, and Clive Davis.

SLY LIVES! premieres February 13 on Hulu. See Questlove's VIBE cover below.
