Sometimes Staycations Beat Vacations

One of the big things we missed in 2020... Vacations... more than that... getting away to just relax at all became impossible. We had 3 different cruises that were cancelled... We had to adjust our anniversary trip... and I got 2 days off during Christmas break this year. I really... REALLY... needed a little break!

We spent the weekend at Hilton Orlando. It's right on I-Drive... minutes from Icon Park, Top Golf, Andretti's, and SeaWorld. We took advantage of all of it! My son turns 16 this week, so we brought his best friend and had a great weekend to just relax... a little family time, mixed in with a little grown folks time. We also officially added our new brand of Rum to the bars at Hilton Orlando! Michael and the amazing bar staff did some experimenting and came up with 2 delicious drinks using our Yo-Ho Spiced Rum and added them to the bar menu! They were the first bar to add us so they will always be a part of the history of Yo-Ho Rum! Which by the way, you can check out HERE...

We spent Friday night as a family eating amazing food and trying great rums for Jenn and I... craft sodas for the kids... at David's Club. It was one of the first times in a long time that we got to just enjoy hanging out. Michael is a walking encyclopedia when it comes to spirits, it was so cool to hear so many stories and learn so much about it. After dinner, the amazing pool area has multiple fire pits to relax around and make s'mores... or you can jump into the heated pool.

Saturday we took the short ride over to SeaWorld for a few hours to feed the sea lions... and our faces at the Seven Seas Food Festival. In the afternoon we got together at Tropics Pool Bar and Grill and had some fun with Yo-Ho Rum! The bar staff made up some samples for everyone to try and Jenn and I told the story of Yo-Ho and how it came to be. Everyone enjoyed the drinks and we spent the afternoon in a cabana by the pool. The kids spent the afternoon racing go-carts at Andretti's... like I said... something for everyone!

Saturday night we had probably the most amazing dinner we have ever had, Jenn and I had a Chef's Table experience at Spencer's. Chef Ron prepared everything right in front of us. He explained it all and told some great personal stories as well. And when I tell you it was the best food I have ever tasted, that doesn't do it justice. It looked amazing... and it tasted even better!

Check out some of the photos from this weekend... and if you are looking for the perfect weekend staycation, Hilton Orlando will not disappoint. There really is something for everyone... for the weekend or even just for the day!
