'Dogs go 2-3-4 in weight throw on Day of WSU Open

SPOKANE, Wash. – Day 2 in Washington saw Fresno State's throws group do what it expects–fill out the top spots in an event. While the Bulldogs didn't pick up first place, they did claim the next three spots.

The group was led by Cierra Jackson who earned her second runner-up finish in the weight in as many meets in the last month. The sophomore landed her best throw of the season on her fifth throw, a mark of 19.28m/63-3.25. Jordan Bryant took third with a personal best toss of 18.68m/61-3.50 on her first attempt. Not having crossed the 18-meter mark in her career, Bryant surpassed it on four of six attempts on Friday. Also setting a new personal best, and placing fourth was Trinity Williams. Like Bryant, Williams crossed the 18-meter mark for the first time in her career, landing a throw of 18.19m/59-8.25.

On the track, Cennona Pipion broke her previous personal indoor record in the 200 meters, clocking in at 24.33 to place eighth.

The final day of competition will begin at 11 a.m. PT for the 'Dogs.
