BOULDER, Colo. – The Fresno State Volleyball team had its second straight loss in straight sets on Saturday afternoon to the Colorado Buffaloes in their second appearance in the Buffs classic.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Fresno State struggled to find their rhythm early in the match, with numerous attack errors that allowed Colorado to build an early lead. Ella Rud stood out with several strong kills, but the team could not overcome Colorado's effective serves and solid defense. Despite some bright spots in their play, Fresno State's inconsistency in this set resulted in a comfortable win for Colorado.
In the second set, Fresno State's performance dipped again. Although they maintained their fighting spirit, Colorado's high hitting percentage and fewer errors overshadowed Fresno State's efforts. Addison Haluska led the team with four sets in the set, but the Bulldog offense couldn't keep up with Colorado's pace.
Fresno State improved significantly in the third set, narrowing the score margin. Addison Haluska and Kasey Purry contributed with critical kills and blocks, helping Fresno State stay competitive. They managed to capitalize on some of Colorado's errors and briefly held the lead. However, key serves and attacks by Colorado turned the set in the Buffaloes' favor, leading to a close 25-23 finish.
