FRESNO, Calif. - The fifth seeded Fresno State women's tennis team begins their run for the conference title against fourth seeded Boise State at the 2025 Credit Union 1 Mountain West Championships in Las Vegas.
Bulldogs received a first-round bye and will compete in the quarterfinal match on Thursday afternoon at Darling Tennis Center.

FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK
Paulina Montiel was tabbed as the conference's final Freshman of the Week (Apr. 21), she is the only Bulldog this season to earn a weekly honor.
Montiel dominated play without dropping a single set against San José State (6-4, 6-4). The freshman also went undefeated (1-0) in singles at No. 6 with a commanding straight set victory. Montiel contributed a crucial singles point in a team win over a higher-ranked conference opponent. The freshman is the first since Eliza Dunbar (Mar. 27, 2024)
CHAMPIONSHIP HISTORY
Fresno State prepares for their 10th Mountain West Conference Championships since joining in 2014.
In the Bulldogs inaugural year they took the conference crown after defeating second seed New Mexico, 4-2. Since then the Bulldogs have seen three championship matches. Fresno State held the conference title once more in 2018 after taking down top-seed UNLV, 4-1. Since 2018, the Bulldogs have struggled to qualify into the semi finals match.
A LOOK AT THE BRONCOS
Broncos earned the No. 4 seed after defeating Utah State in the final conference match of the season, 4-1
Boise State defeated Fresno State in their first meeting this season in Fresno, 5-2
Broncos trail the all-time meetings 5-18 and have won two of the last five matches
Maya Dutta was named MW Freshman of the Year, Dutta also earned an All-MW Singles & Doubles nod
Zdena Safarova was named All-MW in singles and doubles as well
The Broncos ended the regular season with six straight conference dual wins, their most entering a conference tournament since the 2009-10 season
This streak is also Boise's longest since winning eight consecutive duals as members of the Western Athletic Conference in 2010
