FRESNO, Calif. - Fresno State women's basketball head coach Ryan McCarthy announces the signing of Morelia Chavez to the 2025-26 roster on Tuesday afternoon.
Chavez comes to the Central Valley from Florida State in her final year of eligibility. The incoming graduate student is the seventh transfer addition to the Bulldogs.
The 6-foot-1 spent the 2024-25 campaign at Florida State where she made an appearance in six games for the Seminoles.
Prior to Florida State, Chavez spent two seasons at Eastern Arizona marking 33 starts in 61 games. At Eastern Arizona Chavez was named All-ACCAC DI 1st Team and All-Region DI 1st Team in 2024.
Chavez, a native of Morelia, Michocan, Mexico is the seventh transfer addition to the Bulldogs this offseason, joining Emilia Long (UAA), Djessira Diawara (SJSU), Jaisa Gamble (UAA), Hedaa Koehne (UAA), Indiya Clark (UAA) and Ashlyn Rean (UAA).
