Ochoa goes out as 2nd team All-American, Andress earns honorable mention

FRESNO, Calif. - Fresno State's top two leading scorers from 2025 have added another accolade to the list as the Association of Collegiate Water Polo Coaches (ACWPC) announced its Division I All-America honors on Friday. Senior Brooke Ochoa earned second team honors and junior Hailey Andress was tabbed honorable mention.

Ochoa closes out her career as a three-time All-American earning her highest honor this season. Previously, she earned third team (2023) and honorable mention (2024). The native of Carlsbad, Calif. graduates as Fresno State's all-time leader in goals (217), hat tricks (37), assists (138), and steals (130).

In 2025, Ochoa was a first team All-Golden Coast Conference selection with 74 goals, 32 assists, 25 drawn exclusions, 34 steals and 12 field blocks. She tallied a program record seven goals in the GCC Championship semifinal game against No. 21 Pacific. The senior was named to the GCC All-Tournament team after closing out her career with a combined 13 goals, seven assists and 12 steals in the three tournament games.

Andress also earns her third career All-America recognition, securing the honor in each year of her career. The junior was a second team selection in 2024 and honorable mention as a true freshman in 2023.

The junior joined Ochoa as a first team All-GCC honoree this season, coming in second on the team with 65 goals. She added 26 assists, 20 steals, six drawn exclusions, and six field blocks. Andress scored at least one goal in each game this season, extending her active streak to 27 consecutive games with a goal. Of her 22 games played this season, she scored multiple goals in 20 games.

The ACWPC All-America award is a prestigious honor that recognizes athletes nationally and throughout all collegiate divisions. This award is presented to water polo athletes who exhibit immense talent in the pool, provide leadership, and have helped build and advance the sport. Recipients are selected by ACWPC member coaches.
