Walberg signs pair of French additions

FRESNO, Calif. - Fresno State men's basketball head coach Vance Walberg announced the signing of French additions Wilson Jacques and Bastien Rieber to the Bulldogs' roster on Monday. The pair of signees bring Fresno State's offseason additions to five.

Both of Monday's additions are top-level French talent, playing for the ProA U21 French League and earning first team selections. Jacques and Rieber were both selected to the preliminary list for the French U20 team, to participate in the FIBA U20 EuroBasket in Greece in July.

Jacques signs as a 7-foot tall center who most recently played at JL Bourg en Bresse in Bourg, France. He was named the Espoirs Elite Season Most Valuable Player, averaging 14.9 points, 10 rebounds, and 1.9 assists per game. He led the team to the France Espoirs Elite U21 title this season. He was named a 2024-25 Espoirs Elite All-Star, recognized as one of the top five players in the division.

Rieber is a 6-foot-2 guard who played with the JDA basketball club in the Betclic Elite U21 league. He led the league in assists with an average of 8.6 per game. He also averaged 12.1 points per game this last season.
