Carlson added to coaching staff

FRESNO, Calif. – Fresno State head softball coach Charlotte Morgan has announced the addition of Ariel Carlson to her staff as an assistant coach. Carlson will serve as the program's hitting coach.

"Ariel is an up-and-coming coach with the potential to become one of the top hitting coaches in our sport," said Morgan "She's passionate about developing hitters and helping them reach their full potential. Coming from Oregon, she knows what it takes to get to the Women's College World Series and brings a champion's mindset. Adding her to our staff is a huge win for our program."

A native of Eugene, Ore., she comes to the Valley after serving as the Director of Player Development and Analytics at Oregon during the 2025 season. The Ducks finished the season with a 54-10 (19-3 Big 10) record, advancing to the Women's College World Series for the first time since 2018.

She joined the staff at her alma mater following a standout playing career with the Ducks.

Carlson played five seasons in the outfield for Oregon (2020-25), helping lead the team to three consecutive NCAA Regional appearances. She appeared in 217 games and finished her career with a .306 batting average, 173 hits, 159 RBIs, 47 stolen bases, and 44 home runs. Her 44 home runs rank fourth and her 159 RBIs rank sixth in program history.

She was a 2024 NFCA All-Region and All-PAC 12 selection after having her best season as a Duck during her senior campaign. She started all 51 games, recorded a .306 batting average with 58 hits, 55 RBIs, 16 home runs and 18 stolen bases.
