Mazon added to staff as Director of Player Development

FRESNO, Calif. – Fresno State softball head coach Charlotte Morgan has announced the addition of Mariah Mazon to her staff as the program's Director of Player Development.

"I'm excited to have Mariah on staff," Morgan said. "Her pitching experience will be a major asset. She's a pro with AUSL, a strong role model, and a talented two-way player who's competed on the biggest stage at the Women's College World Series. She knows what it takes to be a champion both on and off the field. On top of that, she's earning her master's in sports psychology, which will be a valuable addition to the mental side of our game."

Mazon returns home to the Valley after spending two seasons as an assistant coach at Academy of Art University in San Francisco. Prior to her time at ART U, she served as a graduate assistant at Holy Names University during the 2023 season.

The Tulare native is also a professional softball player. She made her pro debut in 2022 and has remained active on the circuit ever since. In January 2025, she was drafted to the Volts of Athletes Unlimited.

Mazon played five seasons at Oregon State (2018–22) under Fresno State legend Laura Berg. Over the course of her career, she earned All-America honors three times, was a three-time All-Region selection, and a four-time All-Pac-12 honoree.

She recorded 70 career wins in the circle, finishing with a 2.23 ERA, and set the Oregon State career record with 865 strikeouts. She also ranks among the program's top five in complete games and innings pitched.

As a senior, Mazon helped lead the Beavers to the Women's College World Series in 2022 — just the second appearance in program history and the first since 2006.

Following graduation, Mazon joined Team USA in 2022. She won gold at the WBSC Americas Qualifier, going 1–0 with a 2.80 ERA and 10 strikeouts in 5.0 innings pitched. She also earned gold at the 2022 Pan American Championships.
