Bulldog trio selected to MW watch list

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Three Fresno State soccer players were named to the Mountain West preseason watch list on Wednesday ahead of the 2025 season. Ciara Wilson, Anaya Shelton and Alexis Campbell represent Fresno State as players to watch this season.

Wilson, a senior from Fresno, returns after leading the team with 17 points in 2024. She scored five goals while adding a team-high seven assists. She had two game-winning goals last season, and was 2-for-2 in her penalty kick attempts.

Shelton, a senior from Merced who is in her second year with the program after transferring from Pacific ahead of the 2024 season, recorded nine starts in 17 games played last year. While at Pacific, she earned All-WAC honors and was among the team's top-leading scorers throughout her years there.

Campbell is another Bulldog who enters her second season in the uniform, but her senior season on the field. She transferred from Cincinnati ahead of the 2024 season, and appeared in all 19 matches with seven starts in her first season with the 'Dogs. A native of Canada, Campbell attended Bill Crothers Secondary School, known as a powerhouse for athletics in the Newmarket, Ontario area.

The Mountain West also released its predicted order of finish, which saw the Bulldogs picked 11th.

Fresno State gets its season going with a home exhibition against Pacific tonight at 7 p.m. with free admission. The season opener takes place on August 14 at UC Davis.
