FRESNO, Calif. – The Fresno State volleyball team is set to host the 2025 Bulldog Invitational this weekend at the Save Mart Center.
The Bulldogs welcome the Santa Clara Broncos and CSUN Matadors for their home opener this weekend in the three-game mini tournament.
Fans who present their Fresno State Football ticket will receive free admission to both Fresno State volleyball matches.
ALL EYES ON ADDI
Fresno State volleyball senior Addison Haluska has been named Mountain West Preseason Player of the Year, the conference announced last week.
Last season, Haluska led the Bulldogs to a 16-14 overall record and a 12-6 mark in league play.
The opposite hitter totaled 463 kills and finished the 2024 season with a .228 hitting percentage.
She also recorded 219 digs, five solo blocks and 58 block assists. Haluska was the only Bulldog named to the Preseason All-Mountain West Team.
BACK ON THE 'FLEX
The Bulldogs are returning to the Save Mart Center and will compete in their second full season with their Taraflex court, unveiled at the end of the 2023 season.
Fresno State played its last two home matches of 2023 on the Taraflex court that replaced the wooden surface that had been used since the program's inception.
The Taraflex court offers higher shock absorption, preventing long-term, debilitating injuries for athletes of all ages.
The court features the four-paw Bulldog logo in the center with the "Bulldogs" script logo in the bottom right and "Fresno State" in block letters in the top left corner.
The iconic Green V logo, representing California's Central Valley, is also displayed on the top right and bottom left corners of the court.
The installation of the court has been in the works since early July 2023 and was kept a secret from the team until its finalization on October 31, 2023, for a grand reveal for the team in the Save Mart Center.
NEW YEAR, NEW DOGS
The Fresno State roster is split evenly between newcomers and returners, eight and eight.
Six of the athletes on the Bulldog roster are incoming freshmen: Madison Pulsipher, Clara Garcia, Michon Sailors, Brooklyn Washington, Lalelei Hall and Addison Williams.
The Bulldog squad got one transfer this season, Olivia Lombardi, a transfer from Iowa, who will join her sister Gabby on the Fresno State roster.
Peyton Bitter, a Fresno State track and field athlete, will be joining the Bulldog roster as an outside hitter for the 2025 campaign.
Four of the Bulldogs are valley natives: Jayden Xiong, Peyton Bitter, Brooklyn Washington and Clara Garcia.
