FRESNO, Calif.- The Fresno State women's tennis team will split the week as they open the fall season. Select athletes will be in Las Vegas for the Mountain West Fall Qualifier, beginning on Thursday, while the remaining will be in San Diego for the Veterans Tennis Classic beginning on Friday.

MW FALL QUALIFIER

The winners of the four brackets will qualify for The 2025 ITA Conference Masters Championships, which will be held from November 6-9, 2025 at the Barnes Tennis Center in San Diego, CA.

At the ITA Conference Masters athletes will look to be one of the four singles finalists or of three doubles pairs to earn their ticket to the 2025 NCAA Singles and Doubles Championships.

2025 RECAP

Bulldogs finished the 2025 season with 14-9, 6-4 MW record and saw a quarterfinals appearance at the conference tournament. Matilde Magrini, Sofia Pizzoni and Yinglak Jittakoat earned postseason conference honors with singles & doubles nods.

Among the ITA, Fresno State was ranked seventh in the ITA Northwest regional rankings and Jittakoat was named Cisse Leary Sportsmanship award for the Northwest region.

NEW TO THE VALLEY

The tennis program welcomes two new Bulldogs to the official roster this season in Louna Cormier and Giulia Lodovici. Cormier comes to the Valley from Cannes, France and Giulia from Bergamo, Italy. The two 'Dogs will join the team with four years of eligibility as true freshmen.

YEAR SIX

Head coach Denise Sy enters her sixth year leading the tennis program. In her first five seasons Coach Dy has coached three MW Players of the Year, has had five consecutive top 10 ITA Northwest regional rankings and holds a 60 percent overall winning percentage. The 2022 campaign was a milestone marker for Dy as she was named MW Coach of the Year and earned the regular season title.
